Celebrating 2024 International Women’s Day at inspiHER

Event Overview

The Brampton Board of Trade celebrates International Women’s Day at inspiHER -in recognition and encouragement of the achievements of Brampton’s businesswomen. This years event was held at Millenium Gardens & Banquet Centre, where close to 300 guests enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal. The event was emceed by Board of Trade Directors Paula Harvey, from Bayshore Home HealthCare and Kate Saldanha of PDC Lawyers kicked off the event. The keynote address, delivered by Harit Sohal, co-found of Marlow brought to light the origin story of the company, early struggles the founders faced, and the perseverance and out of the box thinking required to eventually reach their current success.

Later in the evening, Kate Saldanha moderated a panel of female leaders, consisting of The Hon. Charmaine Williams, Associate Minister of Women’s Social and Economic Opportunity, Monifa Brooks of Garabyte Consulting and Fiona D’silva-Coelho of ErinOakKids.  They talked about their professional and personal struggles and how they overcame them thanks to the support of their networks and by lifting each other up.

The event concluded with the awarding of the Naseem Somani Memorial Award for Leadership Excellence to Chantal Carter, founder of Love & Nudes and an amazing performance by Grammy nominated artist Zenesoul. 

Donations for Help a Girl Out

A huge thank you to guests for bringing donations in support of Help a Girl Out, a Brampton based non-profit who is working to end period poverty, in Brampton and beyond.
