Manager – Community Networks

Pay Range: $50,000-$59,000

 

The Position:

The Brampton Board of Trade is looking for a Manager of Community Networks to join our team. As a manager, you’ll collaborate with our team, vendors, and BBOT members to drive engagement at online and in-person business events. These events span a variety of community-building topics and industry sectors. You’ll also play a key role in social media, marketing campaigns and more. It’s an exciting role with a tremendous  opportunity to build your portfolio, network with Brampton’s most influential organizations and liaise with City and Provincial officials. 

 

What you’ll do:

The Manager of Community networks will strategize, plan and lead highly engaging, relevant, in-person and online events through effectively building and maintaining member relationships within the Brampton business community.  

The successful manager of Community networks will: 

  • Work closely with the VP, Operations to ensure that member needs are noted and met 
  • Build strategic event plans from start to finish ensuring venue, logistics, invitations, content and attendance is seamlessly planned and executed. 
  • Complete schedules, scripts and marketing messages for events and meetings 
  • Bring new and exciting ways to utilize digital technologies to engage our key audiences 
  • Work with staff and communications contractors to design, create and coordinate social media campaigns and ensure consistent communication 
  • Actively manage our Event CRM strategy and database 
  • Identify key opportunities to better serve current and future members 

 Who we’re looking for:

Our Manager of Community Networks will come to us with 3-5+ years of experience in event planning, business sales or marketing role. We’re looking for a digitally savvy, energetic team member that can bring fresh new thinking and creativity to our events. You might not be able to do everything, but with a strong foundation in project management, relationship-building, event planning and digital competencies, you have what it takes to learn. 

 

If you have the following assets, skills and experiences, this is the position for you.

The ideal candidate will encompass the following skills, assets and experience: 

  • 3-5+ years of a successful track record in event planning, business sales or marketing role 
  • Experience in delivering Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings, events and forums 
  • Experience and interest in economic development, entrepreneurialism, C-Suite and elected officials 
  • Post-secondary education in event management, project management, business administration or marketing an asset 
  • Experience delivering engagement strategies – campaigns and analytics to recruit attendees 
  • Basic knowledge of Customer Relationship Management platforms 
  • Project management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and juggle multiple projects and deliverables 
  • Ability to recognize and tackle problems by coming up with creative, effective solutions 
  • Access to a vehicle to transport provisions to and from event locations, scout new venues and attend events. 
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours as events may commence before or after regular 9:00 am – 4:00 pm office hours.
