In Conversation with The Honourable Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario

The Honourable Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario, was in conversation with the Brampton Board of Trade on December 1st.  The Premier’s keynote covered the work that his government is doing to build up Brampton and create a pro-growth environment for local businesses. A fireside chat between the Premier and Brampton Board of Trade Chair, Daniel Lewis followed, focusing on the mutual priorities of the Ontario government and the Brampton Board of Trade, such as the revolution in advanced manufacturing, the urgency of building growth-enabling infrastructure and the many exciting initiatives underway to solve the skills shortage challenge.

In Conversation with with The Honourable Victor Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade

The Honourable Victor Fedeli, Ontario Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation & Trade, joined In Conversation with the Brampton Board of Trade and its members to talk about the many exciting projects underway in our innovation economy. With several transformative investments made, including in electric vehicle manufacturing and advanced technologies, in the past year alone, Minister Fedeli shared more about how Brampton fits into the province’s overall growth strategy and what opportunities may be coming next.  Guests also heard about how the province is working to ensure that business have access to the talent that they need to compete and what steps are being taken to break down interprovincial trade barriers.

In Conversation with The Honourable Omar Alghabra, Minister of Transport

The Honourable Omar Alghabra, federal Minister of Transport, joined the Brampton Board of Trade to share the work he is undertaking to strengthen our transit and transportation sectors and gave an overview of the initiatives brought forward in Budget 2023. Minister Alghabra shared the work the government is doing to improve supply chain resiliency, a factor in helping to combat inflation, as well to make critical investments in the infrastructure that we need – including Two Way All Day GO and exploring a High Frequency Rail corridor

In Conversation with The Honourable Peter Bethlenfalvy

On Wednesday, January 11th, Brampton Board of Trade members came together for a discussion with Ontario Minister of Finance, The Honourable Peter Bethlenfalvy.

Minister Bethlenfalvy spoke to Board of Trade members about the province’s plan for economic growth, meeting workforce needs and building key infrastructure. This breakfast meeting marked the beginning of the province’s Pre-Budget Consultation.

In Conversation with The Honourable Monte McNaughton

On Thursday, September 29th, Brampton Board of Trade members took part in a discussion with Ontario Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, The Honourable Monte McNaughton.  Minister McNaughton oversees many elements of Ontario’s workforce development strategy. He shared how the province is striving to meet labour force gaps and members were able to share specific challenges with Minister McNaughton.
