The Brampton Board of Trade is delighted to announce that Mohamad Fakih, President and CEO, Paramount Fine Foods, has been awarded the honour of Brampton Business Person of the Year.
With 3 locations already established in Brampton, the extensive Paramount brand also includes Paramount Lebanese Kitchen, Paramount Butcher Shop, Fresh East, AYA Fine Foods, and Paramount Kids Playground. 35 restaurants are already operating across Ontario, Alberta and Florida, with greater domestic and international expansion planned for the coming year. It is no wonder that Mr. Fakih was listed by the Toronto Star as one to watch in 2016.
"Mr. Fakih is a generous, inspiring, and progressive leader that represents the essence of Brampton and our entrepreneurial spirit," says Evan Moore, the Brampton Board of Trade's Chair. "Brampton is leading exciting change within our country and Mr. Fakih is a great example of our city's dynamism."
A strategic leader and pioneer, Mr. Fakih believes seamless teamwork and employing a family culture amongst his 800 employees are the secrets to his success. Paramount also puts a great emphasis on corporate social responsibility by supporting the communities in which they operate through numerous fundraising and sponsorship initiatives. Mr. Fakih took a leading role in last year's Syrian refugee efforts by pledging to hire up to 100 newcomers to work in one of his many locations across Ontario, including his three locations in Brampton.
"The Business Person of the Year award carries a rich tradition of individuals who are not just innovators and leaders in their field of business but who are also stand-outs in their contributions to the vibrance and health of their community, in Brampton and beyond." says, local business leader Jaipaul Massey-Singh,"In Mohamad Fakih we have another such individual, one whose success fuels a desire to help newcomers, refugees, and those who have been victims of hatred to help build a more inclusive Canada."
"It is our absolute pleasure to award Mr. Fakih with this prestigious honour. His story is compelling and an inspiration to all businesses. Without a doubt, he represents the entrepreneurial and caring aspects of our community," says Todd Letts, CEO, Brampton Board of Trade.
"It is an absolute honour to be awarded Business Person of the Year," says Mr. Fakih. "The Brampton Board of Trade and the citizens of Brampton have welcomed us like family. Community is of the utmost importance to Paramount and my team and I are very proud to be part of this thriving city."
The Business Person of the Year award will be presented to Mr. Fakih at the annual Brampton Board of Trade Business Excellence Awards. Scheduled for May 11th, 8 additional awards will be presented during the evening to local individuals and businesses who are inspiring change-makers in Brampton.
