Brampton Board of Trade has launched a new networking group for businesswomen in the Brampton area. The new group, Connectwork, will focus on professional development and buildings connections, giving women the opportunity to learn and grow with their peers.
The new group will hold its first meeting on Wednesday, September 20 from 9 am to 11 am at Fanzorelli’s Restaurant and Wine Bar in downtown Brampton. Subsequent meetings will take place at the same time in the same location every third Wednesday of the month.
“After speaking with women in the community, young and old, business owners and professionals, we realized that there was a huge gap that needed to be filled. Connectwork will bring business women together to learn from each other and to make valuable connections in an inclusive space,” says Dawania Peele, a member of the group’s steering committee.
The group will focus on personal and professional development, business excellence, support, and encouragement. Each event will include networking, a short presentation from an expert, usually a group member, on a designated topic, discussion and the opportunity to share and problem solve.
The format will be as follows:
9 to 9:30 AM - Networking
9:30 to 9:45 AM - Short talk/presentation
9:45 to 10:30 AM - Discussion time/problem solving
10:30 to 11:00 AM – Networking
The topics to be discussed are as follows:
– Learn about Connectwork
– Operating a small business
– Community marketing
– Confidence and personal branding
– Visioning and goal setting
– Mental health and self-care
