Armacell has been a leader in energy saving foam insulation since 1954. The business develops flexible insulation foam products for the insulation of mechanical equipment in markets where energy distribution is required, such as in commercial and residential construction, industrial applications, and the oil and gas industry.
Recently the company launched an environmentally friendly and sustainable process for making wind turbines that utilize water bottles through their groundbreaking product ArmaFoam.
ArmaForm is a foam core material that starts its life as post-consumer waste in the form of water bottles and other packaging waste. It is made from PET, which is a much easier way of saying “polyethylene terephthalate.
Water bottles are shredded to create something known as PET flake, which is then used to manufacture the foam core. The end product is a lightweight, durable and completely recyclable product that is usually covered in metal when it's used.
Armacell will go up against one other company in their category. Stay tuned to find out in November whether they bring home the win. Congratulations Armacell!
